Title : A case of zieve’s syndrome with development of delirium tremens

Abstract:

Zieve’s syndrome (ZS) is a rare condition that occurs in the setting of alcohol-related liver disease; characterized by hemolytic anemia, hyperlipidemia and jaundice. This syndrome is hard to differentiate from other alcohol-related pathology, resulting in unnecessary therapies, diagnostic interventions, prolonged hospital stays and ultimately impacts healthcare costs.

Biography:

Dr. Luis Nieto obtained his medical degree at the Universidad de Guayaquil. He is currently an internal medicine resident at WellStar Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta, GA. He has had the honor of presenting posters as author and co-author at national meetings such as ACG and ACP. He is interested in digestive disease and clinical nutrition.
