Biography:
Dr. Konovich studied medicine in the 1-st Moscow Medical University. He studied methods of experimental oncology, immunology and cell cultures at the Herzen Moscow Oncological Institute and received the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences in oncology at this institute in 1977. From 1967 to 2015 he worked at the National Medical Research Center for Coloproctology. The research was conducted in the following areas: induction of experimental tumors as evidence of the viral etiology of human colon polyposis; immunopathology of the colon in Inflammatory bowel diseases; clinical and immunological studies in functional, inflammatory and oncological diseases of the colon, including research in biological therapy and surgical treatment. He received his PhD in immunology from the Institute of Immunology of the Academy of Medical Sciences in 1997. He has published 150 scientific papers
