Title : Purse-string encirclement before endoscopic submucosal excavation of a cecum submucosal tumor
Abstract:
Endoscopic Submucosal Excavation (ESE) has been successfully applied to the resection of gastric Submucosal Tumors (SMTs), but rarely to colon SMTs duo to the inevitable perforation and subsequent peritonitis. The perforation is usually difficult to be closed in short time using titanium clips as the collapse of the operational field of view, which is hard to be restored by inflation of carbon dioxide. Here we demonstrate a novel method, named purse-string encirclement before ESE (PSE-ESE), for the endoscopic excavation of a cecum SMT. By using PSE-ESE, closure of colon perforation become easy and convenient.
Audience Take Away:
-
The audience will get the details of our new enodscopic surgery for colon Submucosal Tumors (SMTs), the surgery is named purse-string encirclement before ESE (PSE-ESE).
-
The audience will be able to easily and safely resect colon SMTs endoscopically in their jobs according to our procedures.
-
PSE-ESE can aslo be used for gastric or intestinal SMTs if necessary.
