Viral hepatitis and liver infections remain a significant global health concern despite advances in prevention and treatment. Chronic viral hepatitis can lead to progressive liver disease, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma if left untreated. Improved screening, vaccination programs, and highly effective antiviral therapies have dramatically changed disease outcomes. However, challenges remain in access to care, early diagnosis, and managing co-infections. This topic highlights advances in antiviral therapy, public health strategies, and global efforts aimed at disease elimination, while addressing emerging challenges in liver infections and long-term liver health.
