Gastroenterology is a branch of medicine concerned with the digestive system, sometimes known as the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) to hepatitis C can all be treated by gastroenterologists. Some gastroenterologists specialise in gastrointestinal (GI) diseases. Others specialise in a certain form of gastroenterology. During the development of treatments for Gastroenterology disorders, clinicians and researchers encounter a distinct set of problems. Regulatory organisations impose stringent criteria on all phases of drug development, which is one of these challenges. Competition for individuals has intensified as a result of the increased trial activity in this field, particularly for those with distinctive clinical characteristics.
