Abdominoplasty, Commonly Referred To As A “Tummy Tuck”, Is A Cosmetic Procedure Designed To Improve The Appearance Of The Abdomen By Removing Excess Skin And Fat, And Tightening The Abdominal Muscles. It Is Most Often Used To Treat Individuals With An Abdominal Area That Has Been Stretched Beyond Its Natural Capacity Due To Weight Gain, Pregnancy, Or Aging. The Procedure Begins With An Incision Made In The Lower Abdomen, Just Above The Pubic Area. Through This Incision, Excess Fat And Skin Are Removed, And The Underlying Abdominal Muscles May Be Tightened And Reshaped. In Some Cases, A Second Incision May Be Made Around The Belly Button To Allow For Further Reshaping Of The Abdominal Muscles. The Remaining Skin Is Then Pulled Down And Reattached With Sutures. Abdominoplasty Can Be Combined With Other Procedures Such As Liposuction, To Achieve The Desired Results. Recovery Time And Results Vary Depending On The Individual And The Complexity Of The Procedure. Typically, Patients Are Able To Return To Normal Activities Within A Few Weeks. Abdominoplasty Can Provide A More Toned, Contoured Abdominal Area, Improve Body Shape And Proportion, And Help To Improve Self-Confidence.
