Biliary Strictures

Biliary Strictures

Biliary Strictures Are Narrowing Of The Bile Ducts, Which Are Responsible For Carrying Bile From The Gallbladder To The Small Intestine. Several Conditions Can Lead To Biliary Strictures, Such As Inflammation, Bile Duct Injury, Tumors, And Scarring. Symptoms Of Biliary Strictures Can Include Jaundice, Dark Urine, Pale Stools, And Abdominal Pain. Diagnosis Of Biliary Strictures Can Be Made Through Imaging Tests Such As Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) Or Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP). Treatment Of Biliary Strictures Depends On The Cause And The Severity Of The Narrowing. Endoscopic Balloon Dilation, Stent Placement, And Surgery Are All Possible Treatments. Biliary Strictures Can Be Caused By A Variety Of Conditions, Including Inflammation, Bile Duct Injury, Tumors, And Scarring. Inflammation, Such As Due To An Infection, Can Lead To Narrowing Of The Bile Ducts. Bile Duct Injury Can Occur During Abdominal Surgery Or Trauma, And Can Also Cause Narrowing Of The Bile Ducts. Tumors, Both Malignant And Benign, Can Cause Biliary Strictures.
