The Heart, Or “Cardia”, Is A Powerful Organ Responsible For Pumping Blood Throughout The Body. It Is Composed Of Four Chambers: The Right Atrium, The Left Atrium, The Right Ventricle, And The Left Ventricle. The Right Atrium Receives Deoxygenated Blood From The Body And Pumps It To The Right Ventricle. The Right Ventricle Pumps The Blood To The Lungs, Where It Receives Oxygen. The Oxygenated Blood Then Goes To The Left Atrium, Which Pumps It To The Left Ventricle. The Left Ventricle Then Pumps The Oxygenated Blood Back To The Body. The Heart Is Composed Of A Thick Muscle Wall, Known As The Myocardium, Which Contracts And Relaxes To Pump The Blood. The Heart Also Contains Four Valves Which Control The Direction Of Blood Flow. The Mitral Valve Regulates Blood Flow Between The Left Atrium And The Left Ventricle, While The Tricuspid Valve Regulates Blood Flow Between The Right Atrium And The Right Ventricle. The Pulmonary And Aortic Valves Control The Flow Of Blood Between The Heart And The Lungs And The Body, Respectively.
