Medical Conditions Such As Hiatal Hernia And Pregnancy Can Also Contribute To The Development Of Reflux Esophagitis. Diagnosis Of Reflux Esophagitis Is Usually Made Through The Use Of Endoscopy, Which Allows The Doctor To View The Esophagus, Stomach, And Duodenum. Treatment For Reflux Esophagitis Usually Includes Lifestyle Modifications Such As Avoiding Foods That Trigger Symptoms, Avoiding Alcohol And Smoking, And Eating Smaller Meals. Medications Such As Proton Pump Inhibitors, H2 Blockers, And Prokinetics May Also Be Prescribed. In Some Cases, Surgery May Be Necessary To Correct The Underlying Causes Of Reflux Esophagitis. It Is Important To Note That Reflux Esophagitis Can Lead To Serious Complications Such As Barrett’s Esophagus And Esophageal Cancer.
